Overview

Blaoting is a common problem that cause discomfort, pressure or a feeling of being "stuffed" and sometimes even pain in the abdomen depending on how severe it is.

Some people have more tendency to be bloated and even a small amount of food can cause them to feel discomfort.

Causes of Bloating

Apart from severe medical conditions, most often it's the diet we're following that make us feel bloated.

Feeling your belly swollen, especially after eating, means that there's excessive amounts of solids, liquid or most commonly gas.

People who have this condition are usually following a terrible diet and their eating habits are not on point.

What this means is that they eat everything including the foods that cause them bloating like soda, eggs, beans, wheat and gluten, high fiber foods, and foods that they're alergetic from.

With regard to the eating habits, people with higher tendencies of bloating have large meals in one sitting.

In addition to that, they eat their food fast; swallowing a lot of air, which makes disturbances in digestion and cause a "swelling" in the large intistines.

Yet, swallowing air is not the only way to have gas; there's also gas produced by the bacteria in your intestines as a reaction to certain foods.

How to Reduce Bloating

Reducing the amount of gas in your digestive system starts by correcting your diet and life style in general.

Have smaller meals throughout the day, and keep record of all the foods that cause you any discomfort so that you can keep away from them... And, most definitely, avoid soda.

Chew your food well. This eliminates the amount of air getting into your stomach and it makes you aware when you're full.

Eating fast drags you into having more food than you actually can take, simply because only when you're literally "stuffed" that you realize it.

Practising sports also helps you get rid of that excessive gas and even solids; if you're constipated all the time, try fitting in a workout routine or at least have a brisk walk everyday.

Have brobiotics. These are beneficial bacteria that reduce gas in your digestive system and provide more health benefits. You can find probiotics naturally in yogurt, pickles, traditional buttermilk and fermented cheese.
